Visiting the Altos de Chavon gives travelers a chance to experience the beauty of the Dominican Republic while exploring a small, 16th century-style village that overlooks the Chavon River. Construction of the village began back in 1976 with the goal of creating a landscape that reflects the rich cultural history of the country, and many of the buildings are designed to transport families back to a former time period.
