American Jazz Museum, Kansas City, Missouri
1616 E 18th St, Kansas City, Missouri 64108| Map |
18th and Vine St. boast a rich jazz history. It is no wonder that the American Jazz Museum is located in this historic district. A true American art form, Jazz has shaped more than just music in our county. The American Jazz Museum is the only museum in the world focused solely on the preservation, exhibition and advancement of jazz. A family filled with the musically minded will certainly enjoy a journey through the Changing Gallery exhibit space, Horace M. Peterson III Visitors Center, Blue Room jazz club and Gem Theater. However, even those who know nothing of the jazz era should appreciate and learn from interactive exhibits and films.
