The American Swedish Institute is a cultural bridge between America and Sweden. It is dedicated to the study of Swedish history and American/Swedish heritage. The most impressive element of the institute is probably the building itself. The home of a Swedish immigrant who lived the quintessential ''rags to riches'' story, the building was built during the turn of the century, and has a European flair. The chateau-style, ornate mansion harkens back to European castles of old. Families can educate themselves on Swedish history through a tour of the museum after admiring the stately castle. Providing a great cultural education for the kids, a visit to The American Swedish Institute will have the whole family feeling as if they just stepped out of a plane and onto Swedish lands.
