Within the limestone and brick facade of the historic 1916 Rogers Peet Building – once a men?s retail store ? the interior designer has created spaces inspired by the high-ceilings and solidity of the city?s pre-war apartments and the moments that characterize the city in the minds of New Yorkers. The spaces might remind you of the city on a rainy day or the moment right before dawn break when the streets are silent and New York is all yours. The restaurant serves delicious, simple food that changes with the time of year and is dictated only by what?s fresh and at the height of its season.

    Holiday Shopping Mecca

The Andaz in New York on 5th Avenue was fabulous. It is in a restored building, and the rooms are HUGE. I could not believe the space that we were able to spread out in for a family of four. In addition, it was in walking distance to the major midtown stores, and sits right next to the NY Public Library and Bryant Park for the skating experience. We have come to NY during the holidays for a weekend for many years. We have found the place where we will always stay.

    Tips for Families

Don’t miss going to the public library, it is a must for kids. What a great experience in this modern age to see people using a library, and to see a library done well. The skating is great in Bryant Park as is the Christmas Village that surrounds it.
