Ann Kolb Nature Center is located in a 1,500 acre coastal mangrove wetland in West Lake Park. It was named for the late Anne Kolb, an award-winning journalist and dedicated environmentalist. Her work continues today through the efforts of the Nature Center, which preserves many endangered species of plants. Also on the site are hiking trails, boat tours, an observation tower and a museum. Visitors are given the option to explore the lake on their own by renting canoes and kayaks.
