Tips for Families

Buy the family, year pass. It's a tax write off, and pays off if you visit at least twice in a year.

Eeeek!! Can you say over crowded?? Came her to take my 1yrld baby to see all the fish and stuff but it was really crowded. Kept running in to people and other Mother's pushing strollers. Luckily my sis boyfriend gets discounted tickets bc it would not have been worth the full price of admission. Parking was 8 dollars. Free wifi. The thing that I didn't get tho was that they have an app for a personal tour of everything they had to offer on the app (so the brochure said) and free wifi but when I tried to download it there it would go through. Kept saying that the app couldn't load on my iPhone. If your going to pay for an aquarium trip I would save your money and just go to sea world. Pay the one day admissio...

We visited Aquarium of the Pacific this weekend with my 9 yr. old niece, 6 yr. old nephew and my 21 month old son.  Since I got the tickets for free from my work, I was not expecting much from this place at all.   I figured we'd stay here for about an hour or two tops.  But I was pleasantly surprised.  Truly, time flies so fast when you're having fun; we were there all afternoon!  Had I known how much fun this place was for the kids, I would have brought them there earlier so they have all day or more time to linger and explore.  The Aquarium is located within downtown Long Beach and by the pier.  So there's really lots to see and do here and the vicinity. You can have your hand stamped for re-entry. My 21 m...

My friends and I went thinking that it'll be this grand place. But it's not that great for the price you pay. When we went, there were so many kids running around, it was so hectic. And plu...

First of all: If you walking around downtown LB and you see the big circular shaped building with the murals of the blue whales, sea life, etc...well that's not the aquarium. You need to go another half mile west to go to the actual aquarium. I was due for another visit here. Last time I was here was on a random field trip back when I was in elementary school. Coming back a second time gives you a different perspective on this aquarium. The price of admission is $25 with random student and seniors discounts. But as a participant of the Long Beach marathon, admission was free so I got to take advantage of that. This is definitely a kids and family orientated aquarium. So on my visit here on a random Saturday ...

What a great place, and done very well. We loved it. Very interesting and informative throughout. Kids got to pet sharks, sting rays and jelly fish! We saw them feed the shark tank which was cool. Our favorite was the gigantic ...

If you really have nothing else better to do, then this is slightly entertaining. DON'T, however, bring out of town guests here thinking it'll be a fun, touristy thing to do, as it's really quite lame unless you have kids. For $25 a person, it's really small and expensive. Goldstar usually has tickets for half price as long as you visit on a weekday between 3-6. We didn't do this because we didn't think 3 hours would be enough time to get the full experience. Boy were we wrong. You can easily see the entire aquarium in less than 2 hours. They have a lot of things for kids to do: water jungle gyms, interactive shows, petting sharks, but for the 6 adults that went, we were very bored. They didn't even have pen...

This weekend was my third time at the aquarium, and it still impresses me to no end.  These people do some amazing work, and make a fun interactive environment for the whole family.  I highly recommend coming here and taking your time, enjoying the world that we never see, and that we need to protect before we destroy it. And to people that balk...
