Tips for Families

Toddlers you can confine to a stroller would be manageable (it was for us) but if you have a little one on the loose, be prepared to constantly keep them in check - I'd say between 2 and 5 might not work very well for getting your money's worth because they'll be bored. They also tend to melt down when forced to stay in a stroller, keep their hands to themselves etc. Older kids would be no problem and it really is interesting and beautiful.

If you are too weird for Asheville, you are just plain too weird.

Tips for Families

Purchase tickets in advance. Internet purchases w/ 7-days in advance will save you lots of $$$ especially for larger families with kids over 16-years of age. Also Pack a lunch... food on grounds can be expensive (even the bus driver told us you ''will not miss much'' eating at the local Estate Restaurants. Don't pass on the ICE CREAM in the village... creamiest I have every had. Winery Tour is good for kids 10-and up. Quick, informative and will keep their interest, plus they get to ''taste'' grape juice at end, just like the adults (wine tasting).
