Berlin Zoo, Berlin, Germany

The Berlin Zoo, Germany’s oldest, provides a pleasant and educational outing for families to enjoy on a sunny day. The zoo houses more than 14,000 animals, most in cage-free enclosures, with ample opportunity to see them up close. Visitor favorites include the tigers and pandas, which can be viewed in their unique habitats through glass, providing for a more “natural” experience. Families can expect to spend about two hours exploring in order to see everything, following winding footpaths through various landscaped environments. An excellent outdoor restaurant is available as well as snack and drink counters along the way. The Berlin Zoo is also a low cost exploration, especially if visitors use the Welcome Card to get a discount.
