Located just 20 miles (32 km) east of downtown Jacksonville, Big Talbot Island State Park makes an ideal day or overnight trip for visiting families. Whether the gang wants to kick back on the sun-soaked dunes, wade in the shallows, admire the fallen oaks and cedars on Boneyard Beach or bust out the binoculars for some wildlife spotting, Big Talbot Island State Park is the place to be. The park also has bicycling paths, power boating, sea kayaking, canoeing and scenic hiking trails. Anglers are also in luck as the coastal waters are fairly bursting with whiting, redfish, shrimp and speckled sea trout.
