A locally-owned and operated family-friendly attraction in Lake Placid, New York, Boots and Birdies offers 18 challenging holes of western-themed miniature golf, a Eurobungy and a diner. Things to do with kids abound. Family members can engage in some friendly competition playing miniature golf among river rock beds, a hidden cave and a waterfall while taking in majestic views of the Adirondack Mountains. Kids who enjoy thrilling activities will flip over the two-station Eurobungy, which springs riders up to 20 feet high. Participants wear a harness with bungee cords attached to their hips and jump on a trampoline. The harder kids and adults jump, the higher they will soar. Daredevils can try their hand at flips. Although there is no age limit, there are weight restrictions: a minimum of 20 pounds and a maximum of 200 pounds. Boots and Birdies' newest kiddie entertainment is the Lake Placid Mining Company. Available for purchase are bags of sand stuffed with hidden treasures, such as gemstones, rubies, emeralds or fossils. In addition to activities, Boots and Birdies also has an onsite diner -- the Ice Cream Saloon. The menu includes burgers, hot dogs, pig wings, chicken tenders, fries, onion rings, macaroni salad and coleslaw. The Landslide Plates include an entree and two side dishes. Families can top off a meal with a soft ice cream dessert and choice of toppings. The signature treat is fried dough sundae. Take-out orders are available.
