We love this place.  Aside from what other reviewers have mentioned about Boreal, the positives all being true, we had the fortunate experience of seeing a staff member there for many years.  He taught my...

Haven't been to the snow in years and we finally came to this place for sledding!! I'm a horrible skier but haven't learned how to snowboard yet so we decided to sled this year! The resort was packed, super busy, and quite nice. It's good if you don't want to make the drive ALL the way OUT to Tahoe and if you just simply want to play in the snow. This place is separated into the ski, snowboard, and sledding zones. If you get hungry the food court is located in the main office where all the rentals are. The menu options are decent and food is pretty good, but of course expensive. We went to the sledding/play side. For adults, it's $25 per person with "lift tickets" for 2 hours. It's really just a ramp that yo...

We're only reviewing the Playland Tubing facilities at Boreal here.  We have small kids (6, 4) and were excited to try tubing for the first time at Boreal.  There are plenty of opportunities for improvement at this facility. I dragged the kids up here.... We left at 5am from Los Gatos and got there at 815.   There was an amazing deal where the my 12yo got snow board etc and lessons for two hours (group of kids) for $25!   I actually made money 'cuz we were both so surprised my son bet me $100 there had to be more we hadto spend.  (just kidding!).  Seriously, $25 and he ski'd in the afternoon, too.   His instructor offered to take him on more challenging runs after the lesson on his off time since he felt my son was held back by another kid.  His name is John and that is an amazing offer!   I am so amazed when young people can have so much in them to share their enthusiasm and teach.    Anyway, I took the little kids to the tubin...
