Great Playground with Modern EquipmentFlag review
We love Canal Landing Park when the weather is warm! A fence surrounds a large play area covered with wood chips, where modern play structures keep young children busy. There are the typical playground offerings (swings, slide, monkey bars) and then there are also more elaborate climbing structures, an outdoor percussion station with bells that the children can chime, a wobbly bridge, and more. But what might not be evident at first glance is that this playground is for adults, too. Walk along the trail outside of the fence toward the water and you will find outdoor fitness equipment for adults to use as you walk or jog along the canal.
Tips for Families
Expect a crowd in the afternoon, especially just after lunch. Opt for the morning when the weather is cooler and you just might get the whole place to yourself.

Suggestions for nearby family-friendly restaurants
If you want to grab a coffee, check out the adjacent Freedom of Espresso or hit Starbucks, which is on the same street on the left when you're driving toward the shops at Towne Center. The shopping center includes lots of child-friendly options, including UNO Chicago Grill, King David's (good, inexpensive Middle Eastern - try it!), Great Northern Pizza, and Panera Bread. Wegmans DeWitt, a short drive away, also offers great take-out options during the day with enough variety to please everyone.
