The 43,500-plus acre Cape Cod National Seashore is a wonderful place to visit with kids. They’ll love exploring this natural stretch of wilderness with dunes, ponds, woods and almost 40 miles of Atlantic shoreline. Pack a picnic and plan to spend a leisurely day at Cape Cod’s beaches, high cliff dunes and salt marshes. Pick up maps and brochures at the Salt Pond Visitor Center, which houses a museum, displays and films about the area. Here, families can learn about Cape Cod’s terrain and its first settlers, Native American Indians and pilgrims. The Cape Cod National Seashore has eleven self-guided trails, several of which are well-suited for families. Many have picnic areas.
