From historical to contemporary art, including painting, photography, ceramics, assemblage and sculpture, the Cherry focuses mostly on emerging and experimental artists from the Monterey Bay area. Small, onstage productions take place in the adjacent Cherry Hall, which seats 50 people in its theater. Also located within the grounds is the Geraldine M. and Tom R. The elegant yet informal garden includes a canopy of Monterey pine and native live oak, flowering trees and perennials. A circular path winds through the garden while well-placed seating areas allow visitors a chance to rest and reflect on the works being viewed.
