The Harbor Seal Rookery is a preserve that serves as home to close to 100 adult seals, who give birth to their young on the Carpinteria, California shoreline. From the cliffs above, you have a spectacular view of the seals and the ocean, and there are often volunteers here to answer any questions you may have about these amazing animals. You can get there with a short hike over a trail, and there is a swimming area nearby. This is a very scenic and beautiful area, and getting to see the seals of all shapes and sizes is an added bonus. Take some binoculars for the best views of the seals. Come during the spring months for the best experience.
