Always a fun tourist stop.Flag review
This is an open air marketplace in the heart of downtown (Meeting and East Bay St). I've been visiting it for 40 years and while it no longer has fresh fruit/veg (have to visit the Charleston Farmer's Market at Marion Square on Sat for that), it does have tons of tourist items, fresh lemonade and shopping all around. Fun place to walk through (about 3-4 blocks long) and has additional food/shopping on the streets on each side of it.
Tips for Families
Prices can be high here and there's also tons of junk but it's still fun. You can get fresh praline samples, gelato and candy per the pound at Savannah Candy Kitchen (Market St & East Bay St). Benne wafers are the local specialty cookie and found in the market.
