Chinatown is located in the south side of Chicago, on Cermak and Wentworth Avenues. Visitors will find authentic Chinese restaurants, gift shops, grocery stores, and Chinese medicine stores. There are also many landmarks in the area that represent the Chinese culture. The architecture and decor of many of the buildings are reminiscent of China. Each year the neighborhood hosts the Chinese New Year Festival and the Dragon Boat Race for Literacy, as well as many other events throughout the year. The are walking tours available where tourists can experience the culture and history of the area. Families will definitely want to enjoy some of the fine Chinese and Asian cuisine that can be found around the neighborhood.
