Boylston Street, Boston, Massachusetts 02116| Map |
Located in the Back Bay area of Boston, Copley Square is known for its historic buildings. Families may want to start the walking tour at the Boston Public Library, which was the first library to include a children’s room. The Boston Library, which opened in 1895, houses the personal library of President John Adams. Its façade was made to resemble an Italian palazzo. Trinity Church, with its clay roof, large arches and tall tower is the most prominent landmark. It is continually lauded as one of the top ten buildings in America. Overlooking Copley Square are three John Hancock buildings.
