The Denver Art Museum offers numerous games and art-making activities to help parents and kids explore the collection of more than 70,000 works of art in nine permanent collections. The Family Backpack is filled with games and puzzles for identifying works of art in the galleries, which include African, American Indian, Asian, European and American, modern and contemporary pieces. It’s also helpful to pick up a copy of the Free Things for Families to Do Today brochure for a list of things to see and do in the museum. In the Just for Fun Center and Kids Corner, youngsters can try on pre-Columbian costumes, color a Spanish Colonial crown and play with stuffed animals inspired by artworks.

So much to see!Flag review
Our recent visit to the DAM was free. I found a free pass on the local news station website, Denver 7 that was good for visits during December to January 6. My four kiddos and I love going to the Denver Art Museum. Seven stories in the first building connected to 4 stories in the second make for a lot to see. Families with smaller kiddos may want to hit only the floors that interest them most as it can make for a long day trying to cover everything. My teens & tween have never been able to cover everything in a day. So if you have little ones bring a stroller.
Tips for Families
