Excellent, informative museum for all agesFlag review
The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is one of my favorite Denver museums - actually, favorite all-time museums. In addition to the IMAX theatre and Planetarium, the permanent exhibits - ranging from dinosaurs to mummies to gems and minerals - are excellent. My tween and young teen particularly like Expedition Health, where they learn how their bodies work. The traveling exhibits are also quite good - from Mythbusters to Pompeii. The museum is located in Denver's City Park, which is a great wide open space for enjoying a picnic or a stroll outside under typical Colorado blue skies.
Tips for Families
Tickets to view traveling exhibits -- as well as IMAX and planetarium shows -- are separate from the regular museum admission. So factor those costs into your budget if you want to "do it all" when you visit DMNS.
