The Devil's Postpile National Monument is a rare collection of 60-foot basalt columns that is an intriguing stop for families visiting the Mammoth area. As a nearly unique geological feature, the Devil’s Postpile is well worth a stopover for fans of classic roadside attractions. A short walk takes visitors to the Postpile itself, or another mile can be added for a hike up 101-foot high Rainbow Falls.
