Life-size maze!
Flag reviewTips for Families
Don't let your kids go on their own--it's easy to get lost, and claustrophobes need not apply.

I now know where my Dole pineapple is farmed
My family and friends dropped by the Dole Plantation during our one-day drive around the island. Although we didn't try out the maze (we weren't in the mood, had limited time, and didn't want to spend the money), the store itself was a treat! Inside, you can find souvenirs with the Dole Plantation logo on various items like plush dolls, magnets, etc. In addition, there were plenty of food items to purchase as gifts. The snack bar inside the store was a bonus as my group was getting a bit hungry. I opted for an ice cream while my friend bought several packages of dried fruit from the store. Overall, I would recommend this site as a must-see. I even purchased a sapling/root of an orchid to take home to Califor...
Don't skip the soft serve
The Dole Plantation is interesting in that you will learn a lot about one of the major exports of the islands. There is no entrance fee to enter the plantation, but everything else does have a fee attached. The train ride costs, the maze costs, and everything in the gift shop costs. I did learn how to properly pick a ripe pineapple and how to cut it. That alone was worth the trip. The food shop had great treats for everyone but everyone loved the pineapple soft serve. One thing that might have made the experience better was out of the hands of the Dole Plantation. The day we attended, it was very rainy. The worlds largest maze was closed because the soil was very muddy and there was concern about people fall...
Not worth the drive or time
If you're passing by on your way to see waves at the North Shore, stop in for 30-45 minutes for the maze and a pineapple snack ONLY, otherwise, not worth visiting this place. The train ride is TERRIBLE - and I mean PAINFUL. A slow, old train drags you at a snails pace through a desolate pineapple field for 20 minutes while you listen to a recorded narrative that is hard to understand clearly. My kids (ages 3 & 5) love trains but were miserable and bored - not worth the $25 for our family. The maze is unique - not worth a sidetrip, but if you're already there, can be interesting and fun. The maze is probably better for teens and adults traveling without young children. The pineapple snacks, albeit ridiculousl...
A 'must see' while in Oahu
We had so much fun we ended up going back 3 times. We had our first taste while on a circle island tour. 45 minutes wasn't near enough to experience Dole. The Pineapple Soft Ice cream is absolutely wonderful. The train ride tour of the plantation was very informative and fun for the whole family. The garden t...
Loved the Dessert and Shop
It's quite far from Waikiki but we had decided to spend the day driving around the whole island so it was pretty much on our way back. We had a hamburger and of course a Pineapple Whip which was probably the highlight of the entire day! So delicious!! We didn't spend much time on the attractions but did do a bit of shopping. We purchased a personalized ornament from the shops. We also ordered pineapple to be sent home to our families - everyone raved about how good the pineapple was! We also picked up a bag of pineapple candy and seriously it's been the biggest hit. We put them in a bowl by the front door and our family and friends would pick one up on the way out. When we ran out we nearly had a riot on our...
