Definitely a fan, though I'm not sure I can compare Dylan's to other awesome candy stores - we have NONE where I live, so Dylan's made my eyeballs pop out. I will say that this is where, many years ago, I discovered my love of chocolate-covered gummy bears. Obsessive love. Totally not healthy. Had a friend in NYC mailing them to me regularly (yeah, melted too, which honestly is wonderful too). Just learned here that there's a bar upstairs? All the more reason to go. Dylan's, to me, offers a great selection - though a bit on the pricey side. If you have kids, it's a must when you visit NYC. Great  selection of your favorite candy! I found everything I wanted and stuff I didn't know I wanted. Go through this l...

Are there really cool things all over the place? yes.  Is the fact that the entire store is practically made out of candy pretty badass? yes.  Is it great that it's open pretty super late to get yo fix on after deciding dessert wasn't a good idea at dinner? fo sho.  But like all candy stores, high quantities of candy in giant bins leads way to stale crappy taste and hard un-biteable items.   I'll admit a multi story candy emporium is pretty awesome.  I've been there many times and never been upstairs (can you go upstairs?).  Downstairs is chock-full-o Victoria's Secret style sweatpants emblazoned with Dylan's Candy Bar as well as maaany other different clothing items.  Also... billions of different things yo...

I'm sure early in the morning or when all the registers are open it's a decent place.  We had the unfortunate experience of being there last Saturday late afternoon.   Walking into Dylan's you get the distinct impression they didn't expect this many people in the store.  It's difficult just to get in the door with a gumball machine oddly placed to the left of the entrance and a server giving away free samples to the right.  It only gets worse as it's utter chaos after that with piles of people alternately forming some type of line around the "penny" candy circle  for both the candy and checking out.  Pretty much you don't know whether you are cutting the line for the candy or the checkout and with no organiz...

I'm really not sure why the phrase is "like a kid in a candy store"...because the wee tots in Dylan's have NOTHING on my sister and I when we raid this joint! I give it a solid 4.5 stars because they're SOOO phenomenal, the staff tend to be SOOO nice...and I'm kinda sweet on one of the cashiers ;-)  But some of their prices for items are just astronomical!  Yes, yes, yes!  I know!  Landmark.  Tourist trap.  I got it!  Still. But it's truly phenomenal!  I'm addicted to their mammoth stuffed rice crispy treats and awesome little candy bars.  The gummy bear wall is AMAZING!!!!  Mango gummy bears, y'all!!!!  And it's the perfect way to spend your time while you're waiting through the insane line to dine at Seren...

Cotton candy sweet to go, let me see that Tootsee Roll Come on, Tootsee Roll, just make that Tootsee Roll Here we go, Tootsee Roll, yeah, Tootsee Roll Let me see that Tootsee Roll Get on the floor and make that Tootsee Roll To the left, to the left, to the right, to the right To the front, to the front, to the back, to the back Now dip, baby, dip, come on dip, baby, dip Dip, baby, dip, just dip, baby dip Just dip, cotton candy free to go Let me see the Tootsee Roll =============================== Now of course that's my nostalgic moment here, and of course I'm referring to the Tootsie Rolls candies (spelled differently from the famed cheesy 90's hip-hop song). Those little, chewy, gooey, Carmel-like little b...

If you don't do well surrounded by children on sugar highs, disgruntled employees and parents worried about price tags as their kiddos shovel candy into their to-go bags, then Dylan's is not the place for you. The decor is fun and reminiscent of the Candyland boardgame. It will make you want to grab left and right for goodies. Then you'...

This place is awesome! As you can imagine it has every candy you could ever want. I loved visiting! I will admit that the kid to adult ratio was definitely a little saturated, but it was still fun to run around and feel like a kid again. I went in the middle of March and it...

Definitely a fun little spot to check out, especially if you have a wait at a nearby restaurant to kill some time. Cheerful charming displays of all your childhood favorites, and amusing 'honey, I blew up the kids' sized candy bars.   Some unique candy.. mostly typical candy dipped in chocolate or so...
