El Capitan Theatre, Los Angeles, California

The El Capitan Theatre is located in a prime location, next to the Disney Studio Store and Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop. It is the theatre that is home to Walt Disney's movie creations. The theatre opened on May 3, 1926. It has been restored and enhanced. The Spanish Colonial exterior gives way to the East Indian interior with its bright colors. The surround-sound stereo system and the newest in digital projection technology provides for a superb experience. Tuesdays are for Tiny Tots, and the lighting and sound systems are set to be toddler friendly. This is a great way to experience Hollywood's glimmering past. There are Spanish language showings on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Disney films in historic Hollywood theaterFlag review
There’s no better place to see a Disney movie than at the El Capitan Theatre, which debuted in 1926. Today, the historic theater is run by the Walt Disney Company and features first run movies, often preceded by live stage shows with singing and dancing characters from the film you are about to see. Even older kids, as well as adult, will enjoy watching Disney films and live shows presented in such a majestic theater. Before or after the movie, it’s fun to enjoy a meal at the adjacent Disney’s Soda Fountain & Studio Store. Shakes and sundaes are made with Dewar’s yummy ice cream. And you can find new and hard-to-find Disney DVD titles and Disney merchandise in the Studio Store.
Tips for Families
Check the schedule before you go for live shows and discounted packages, which often include $10 tickets, popcorn and a fountain drink all for one price.
