Great location, but OH!, that elevator noise!

This hotel is a great spot for a city weekend. The hotel is close to major museums and the river area. Great location for walking around the city. Nice breakfast included at the Friday's attached to the hotel. Rooms are large and have area to prepare microwaveable items---small refrigerator and sink--no utensils or dishes unless you ask at main desk. […] Nice sitting area apart from the bedroom where a pull out sofa can sleep two. BUT...EVERY room in this hotel abuts an elevator (the hotel is a round structure) and the noise and vibration created from the elevator shaft mechanisms will keep anyone sleeping in the sitting area awake! Really horrendous noise each time the elevator was called for. That along wi...

room was very roomy but this is not your typical embassy suites with the rectangular suites, an atrium and the usual breakfast area. its a cylindrical building so every room is the shape of a rough pizza slice. 3 small elevators can make for some long waits. rooms felt old and dated. our hot faucet handle was not seated firmly so when we turned it, it would just spin and not dispense. we finally figured out a way to angle it so that it would dispense hot water. handle on a dresser was missing. breakfast buffet is served in an adjacent tgif's which is direct accessed, but was a lots more cramped than usual. tgif is not set up properly for a buffet. it's just not what i expected of an embassy suites. location ...

The staff were excellent, very attentive to our needs. The hotel itself seems dated. The carpets on the floors we stayed on were wet and it gave the hallways a damp, musty smell. They had air blowers running to dry them but it didn't help. Breakfast at the TGIF was OK but had long lines in the morning. The parking was Valet ONLY and wa...
