Executive Mansion, Raleigh, North Carolina
200 N Blount St, Raleigh, North Carolina 27601| Map |
The Executive Mansion is the residence of the Governor of North Carolina and his/her family. Notable not only for its political tenants but also because of its architecture, the building is an example of the Queen Anne style, dating back to 1881. Since no major changes have been made to the building since its beginnings, it is a great site for the kids to see, showing them the architecture of the past. In the 70s it was added to the National Registry of Historic Places. A beautiful rose garden and an area with wooden play equipment to be used by visiting children make the Executive Mansion a great stopover for families.
