Exit Glacier, as the easiest car-accessible attraction in Kenai Fjords National Park, is a natural destination for a family outing in the area. Exit Glacier affords a glimpse of nature in all its power and beauty, in this most unique Alaskan wilderness. There is a wide range of trails available to explore, most of them very easy, perfect for families of varying ages and abilities. The guided walks led by the park service offer the added bonus of learning about glaciers, local wildlife and history, while still keeping youngsters interested. The 8.6-mile road to the glacier can be traveled by car, taxi or shuttle from Seward, and even by snowcoach as needed. Exit Glacier is probably the most popular day-use area in Kenai Fjords National Park, and shouldn’t be missed.
