At the centrally-located Fiscalini Ranch Preserve, families can enjoy hiking and biking on trails among pines and atop a bluff with spectacular views of the ocean and mountains. People are welcome to explore the area on their own or on free monthly docent-led walks, which provide a great opportunity to study wildflowers, understand the ecosystem of the forest, see marine animals, and view native birds. Otters, dolphins, and seals are frequently seen from the trails, and whales are seen during their migratory season. In addition, more than 182 species of birds have been identified on the ranch.
