Perfect trail for families of all ages, all seasonsFlag review
Any season, any age, this trail is perfect for all families. Step off Sunset Hill Road and straight on to the path. But don't forget to look back first and catch the stellar view of the lake from here on a clear day! Four footed friends are always welcome to join you. You will pass a small pond and then you are into the woods for a short 1 mile hike to what feels like the top of the world. The path through the forest is hilly and makes enough twists and turns to make you feel like you are on a "real adventure". When the snow is deep, it is perfect for snowshoeing. For winter hiking it is very protected from the wind, except for the top. During the summer months, hiking shoes are good. Sometimes after the rain you can find BIG puddles. Bring your camera and a snack. There is bench at the top to take in the view and recharge. When you head back down, before you hit the woods, make a left to take the short path to the road "Five Tree Hill" and walk the road home as an alternate option.
