French Broad Chocolates is a dream come true for families who love eating delicious, high-quality chocolate that was made using traditional methods. Owners Dan and Jael have been making chocolate for years and first started this business out of their home kitchen by selling their sweets at local farmers markets and to personal friends. Soon they grew in popularity and today they own this impressive shop that has become an exciting attraction for people visiting Asheville, NC. The cacao used in all of the chocolate comes from small farms that take pride in what they grow and focus on quality rather than quantity. The owners make everything they sell themselves, which means each delectable piece of chocolate was prepared fresh at the shop by people who know the ins and outs of chocolate production. When it comes to tasting all of the wonderful truffles, brownies and chocolate drinks that are carefully crafted at this location, visitors can sit in the chocolate lounge and order items from an impressive menu of sweets. Families can sign up for tours of the Factory & Tasting Room, which happen every Saturday at 11am and cost only $10. The shop even offers dessert catering for events and has chocolate displays available for purchase as well. French Broad Chocolates is also a Certified Green Restaurant and uses as much environmentally-friendly products and sustainable practices as possible while operating their business.
