Description

Since 1941, the family-owned and operated Royal Carriages has been providing day and evening sightseeing tours of New Orleans, Louisiana. Comfortably seated in a mule-drawn carriage, visitors will experience the Old World ambience and history of the colorful French Quarter in New Orleans. Private and group tours are available. Families planning to include a mule-drawn carriage ride during their stay in New Orleans should do so early on in the trip to get tips from guides about where to eat and shop with kids. Entertaining, informative guides point out architecture, jazz clubs, galleries and restaurants as they graciously escort visitors through New Orleans’ famous courtyards with iron-laced balconies, Bourbon Street and by the Mississippi River. They also somewhat customize their tours to fit the needs of their passengers and are full of tales about celebrities, local legends and anything else visitors are curious about. Kids will be thrilled just to ride in a carriage pulled by gentle draft mules, which get a three-month minimum vacation on a 30-acre farm in the Mississippi countryside.

Tips for Families

Ask your driver any burning questions you might have about the French Quarter. Odds are they have the answer! Our carriage ride was just before sunset and we had some beautiful views.
