Funicular from Lower Town to Terrasse Dufferin, Quebec, Quebec
16 Petit-Champlain St, Quebec, Quebec G1K 4| Map |
The excursion from Lower Town to Terrasse Dufferin can be quite the hilly trek, especially for those with families. The funicular is made up of two cable cars that go up and down the steep slopes, similar to the hills in San Francisco. Originally built in 1879 this landmark is 195 feet high with Chateau Forntenac gracing the top. It is an efficient way to travel the town, while offering pretty sights along the journey. The funicular from Lower Town to Terrasse Dufferin is a great alternative to an otherwise tiresome trek.

Take the easy way up!Flag review
For just a couple of dollars this is a great way to head up to the Old Quebec. Although you can take the stairs, this is much easier and a fun with a great view of the city and the old port.
Tips for Families
It gets crowded, they pack you in (think elevator) so if you have a stroller or large bag, it could be a problem.
