Visit the home of the family's favorite greeting card company at the Hallmark Visitors Center. This famed card company has called Kansas City home for more than 100 years, ever since an enthusiastic 18-year-old, Joyce C. Hall, started the company in 1910 with good intentions and a shoebox full of postcards. On the typical visit, families will get to experience the magic of Hallmark through viewing the card production process, the Hallmark Art Collection and the Bow Machine. Creating a kid-friendly space, the Hallmark Visitor Center provides ''passports'' for children that they can have stamped at the six stamping stations scattered throughout the tour. When hunger strikes, families can head over to Fritz's Railroad Restaurant, where food is served from a model train, or enjoy the more colorful Crayola Cafe. If parents decide to pack a lunch for the kids, the family can have a picnic at the Crown Center's Lunch Land. Accommodating the little ones, the Hallmark Visitors Center really stands-out as an attraction fit for vacationing families.

Tips for Families
Just next door to the Visitors Center is Kaleidoscope, a hands-on art center for kids which is also owned by Hallmark. If time permits, it is another fun stop.

Cards, Movies & More at Hallmark Visitor's CenterFlag review
Though not as much fun for kids as Kaleidoscope next door, this is still a fun stop for the family. The circular exhibition takes you through the history of Hallmark and includes cards, Christmas ornament displays, and movies. Step into a booth and watch Hallmark commercials from around the world. Make your own bow at the push of a button. Or just spend way too much time with Hoops & Yoyo or Maxine.
