Fun place for motorcycle lovers of all ages!Flag review
Fun place for moto lovers of all ages. Grounds are beautiful to take a stroll around by the river. When we did go I was impressed by the beautiful location (glad to see some development here!), cool building and interesting exhibits. I expected to be a bit bored by motorcycle bits... but there's enough interaction and buttons for me to push to keep my interest. There's buttons to push, handles to crank, machines to watch move and lots of photo ops at the end where you can sit on many motorcycles! There's a couple food options... a casual (Cafe Racer) place to grab custards and sandwhiches and a sit down casual dining experience (Motor). The restaurant area itself is made w/lots of recycled things used in unique ways. I loved the cork floor (I dropped my knife, it bounced!). Special exhibits in The Garage are good. There's been Evel Kneivel, Leather Jacket tribute and several others. Check the website before going to see if there's anything going on here. Thursday nights are bike nights where many motorcycles gather. Sometimes there's live bands or special events. It's fun to walk though and look at all the motorcyles and talk to the bike owners. Check out the gift shop for some cool things. My favorite... handbags made in Italy from my recycled clothing!
Tips for Families
*Check website for special activity days for kids that include admission specials. *If you visit on a Thursday in the summer be prepared to possibly park across the street. They start setting up for bike night pretty early. *Plan enough time if there's a special exhibit in the garage, otherwise it's doable in just a few hours. *Walk the grounds to look at the beautiful river and gardens, including the rivet walls inscribed by enthusiasts and H-D dealership owners.
