Paris’ Hotel Ares Eiffel Offers a Comfortable Stay in a Good Location

Paris is a great place to take the kids for one of their first international vacations. Lots of world-famous monuments and museums, many kid-friendly parks and public spaces, and the excitement of experiencing a new culture can make for a very memorable holiday. While you’ll be spending most of your time enjoying the sights and sounds of Paris, a convenient, kid-friendly hotel will also play an important role in making your trip a success. One such hotel is the Hotel Ares Eiffel. We (Mom, Dad and two girls: 11 & 8) stayed at the hotel in Spring 2013 and were very pleased with our choice. For us, the most important considerations in choosing a Paris hotel were comfort and location. The Hotel Ares Eiffel offered both. Comfort: When researching Paris hotels, we found that a great deal of them offered either only one double bed or one double bed plus a single cot. Neither of these options would work for our family of four. The Hotel Ares Eiffel offers a double bed plus TWO fold-out single beds. The double bed was very comfortable for the grown-ups while the two fold-out single beds worked out well for the kids. Note that the room is rather small, especially when the two fold-out beds are open, but that is really the norm for many hotels in Europe. The room also included a modern bathroom with a large shower, a flat screen TV and mini bar. Additionally, the hotel offers breakfast just off the lobby (a little pricey, but free for the kids). The lobby itself was stylish and a big hit with our girls. Location: The Hotel Ares Eiffel is located on a quiet residential street in the 15th arrondissement. While it is not right next to any particular attraction (although the Eiffel Tower is certainly walkable from there), the hotel is only a block away from a Metro station where three Metro lines stop. Having access to three lines means that you can reach many popular destinations with one direct Metro ride or maybe having to change trains one time. Also, if you are planning to visit Disneyland Paris or somewhere else outside Paris, there is an RER train stop near the hotel, as well. The hotel is close to restaurants, bakeries and shops – and there is a large supermarket only a couple blocks away. (In case the kids start to get tired of the local food, there is a McDonalds nearby, as well.) Finally, the front desk personnel were always very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, we had a very enjoyable vacation thanks, in large part, to the Hotel Ares Eiffel.

    Tips for Families

If you’re a family of four, make sure you request a room with 2 single fold-out beds when booking.
