The Houston Zoo is on many ''Top Ten Best Zoos in America'' lists. It is clean, well-maintained, the animals have plenty of room, & they are always upgrading the animal exhibits. The kids area is also top-notch. If you ever get a chance to attend the zoo's annual ''Feast With the Beasts'', do it! It's an evening event. The tickets are not cheap but it benefits the zoo & the animals. You will stuff yourself silly with food from restaurants from all around Houston. You also get two free drink tickets. And the CATS are wide-awake & on the prowl for animal carcasses strung up in the trees. I saw several big cats attacking goat carcasses. Quite a sight! And don't forget to ride the merry-go-round.
