Kids & San Francisco Are a Good Mix

This trip was one of our favorites as a family because of the number of things to do in San Francisco. We were never bored, walked everywhere, and spent very little time in our hotel. The rooms were great, but basic and affordable. Very clean, but lacking in the warmth that would make you comfortable there for longer than you’d need for sleeping and changing clothes to get ready to leave again.

    Tips for Families

Our favorite activities were the obvious ones: Pier 39 and the GoCar tours. I wouldn’t take younger children on the Alcatraz boat tour, but there are plenty of kid-friendly activities at Pier 39 for elementary aged children. The Ghiradelli Chocolate tour wasn’t as fun as we wanted, but ended up going to a park near there for an impromptu picnic. The food in San Francisco is amazing.
