Featuring more than 80 exhibits, the 9,000-square-foot Imaginarium Discovery Center is a popular hands-on, family-friendly attraction in Anchorage, Alaska. Visitors of all ages can explore art, history and science through play at interactive exhibits that combine technology and art in six unique areas. The BP Kinetic Space explores the world of physics, including the principles of energy, force and motion. The Planetarium Hall takes visitors on a journey through Earth's atmosphere and the solar system. Kids love the Bubble Space, an interactive exhibit that uses bubbles of all shapes and sizes to demonstrate surface tension, shape and light reflection. Kids leran the difference between geology and geography in the earth and Life Science area. And designed specifically for infants and children ages 5 and younger is the Tote KidSpace, an interactive exhibit that explores the worlds of art, history and science through hands-on play. The whole family can take a trip through the solar system at the Thomas Planetarium. More fun things to do with kids include visiting the live animal touch tanks where kids can feel a sea star and other marine creatures. Permanent exhibits feature the 15,000-square-foot Alaska History Gallery, displaying more than one thousand objects, as well as full-scale and miniature dioramas that provide a look at the early lifestyles of Alaska's Aleuts, Eskimos and Indians in Anchorage, Alaska.
