This was our third trip to the Presidente and forth to Cozumel. We have always loved this hotel. As fans of snorkeling it cannot be beat. The fish and clarity of the water right outside your door is incredible. We arrived as a tropical wave was hitting the Caribbean. The rooms were prepared with umbrellas and inquiries about any problems relating to the rain were made daily. Our room was upgraded and was truly beautiful. We had two windows overlooking the sea and could see forever. As usual the hotel food was great and all the people working there are very friendly and helpful. Especially enjoyed the huge palapa bar and dining outside. We went into town a few times --eight dollars for a taxi-- and rented a j...

El Presidente is nice but very pricey

We stayed at El Presidente over Spring Break. It's a great spot with great snorkelling right off the hotel's beach! We had a nice time but we spent about twice as much money as we have spent on past trips to Mexico. Our room was about $280 a night and it was tiny. Way too small for a family of three. If you're any more than just a coupl...

We had travelled to Cozumel 10 yrs ago when my kids were little, and had a great time snorkeling right off the beach, but the hotel we had then was less than desirable. I had always wanted to return, but stay in 4 or 5-star accommodations. The Presidente did not disappoint. We had the cheapest pool-view room, but it was large, smartly furnished and very comfortable, with stone floors and bath, a generous patio, and luxurious bedding. The view was lush with greenery (and iguanas)and very private. The grounds are lovely, with expansive lawns and many different kinds of palms and other tropical vegetation, even grass tennis courts. The beach is beautifully maintained, and there is good snorkeling all along the ...

Beautiful beach

The hotel was great but a bit pricey. The resort fee and service fees amounted to an annoying $ per day [...]. The roundtrip airport transfer was overpriced at $140. It only costs 90 pesos each way to get to and from the airport. That is about $15 before tip round trip so save the money. I added the Chichen Itza trip to the itinerary. Plan on an entire d...
