Plenty of Animal ExhibitsFlag review
There are over 400 species of mammals, birds and insects on display at the International Wildlife Museum. My daughter had a great time looking at them all. It didn't matter to her that they weren't actually alive. There is a giraffe that the children can walk under and it was a favorite with my daughter and judging by the mass of children under it, a favorite with many kids! The crawl through ferret hole was also a big hit. There are plenty of hands on exhibits for children to touch, which can make all the difference as far as how much children enjoy a museum. There's a pond outside with fish that is quite exciting for a two year old. There is a clubhouse for kids near the gift shop that is stocked with books and some puzzles for them to read and play with. The staff didn't seem to mind having a bunch of rambunctious children around.
Tips for Families
We went on a busy day (a free entrance day) and we would have had plenty of space to push around a stroller had we brought one. There is a cafe, but if you are picky about what you eat you might want to bring your own snacks. There is plenty of seating in the cafe area. The gift shop is a bit overpriced, but that probably isn't a surprise.
