Located in Wyoming’s Teton Village, 12 miles northwest of the town of Jackson, the ski resort encompasses the Rendezvous and Apres Vous Mountains. Jackson Hole has the longest continuous vertical rise of any ski area in the U.S rising 4,139 feet from the valley floor to the top of Rendezvous Mountain. Although 50 percent of the trails are for expert skiers and snowboarders, 40 percent are geared for intermediates and 10 percent are groomed for beginners. To access the trails, the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort has one aerial tram that holds 100 people, 11 chairlifts and a moving carpet for those learning to ski or snowboard. Various ski and snowboard classes are available for kids and adults. Located in the Cody House next to the Bridger Gondola, Kids Ranch offers age-specific activities for children from six months to 17-years-old. Kids can experience Fort Wyoming and Wild West Woods, an educational ski and snowboard program. The resort also offers free mountain tours for intermediate skiers and snowboarders at 9:30 am and 1 pm. Meet the tour guide in front of the Walk Festival Hall. No reservations are necessary. Families interested in snow sports other than alpine skiing and snowboarding can sign up for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, dog sledding and more at the Saddlehorn Activity Center. In summer, families can hike and enjoy tram rides to the top of the mountain. When it comes to dining, there’s something to please every taste from casual cafes serving pizza, burgers, sandwiches and hotdogs to fine dining featuring three- and five-course meals at the top of the mountain.
