I first went to "Parrot Jungle" when it was still in its original state. I remember loving it as a child. Upon returning to Jungle Island, I am not as impressed but still enjoyed it for the $10 I paid on "Nabor Day" [a.k.a. Labor Day Weekend]. Jungle Island has a lot of beautiful and unique animals. It's small compared to the Miami Zoo but I think it's a good size. I liked that the walkways are mainly sheltered, so the hot summer sun isn't constantly beating down on you. However, some fans along the walkway ceilings would be nice [*hint hint*]. The shows we saw were average, displaying the beauty of the animals rather briefly and stating some facts on the animals. The negatives that really withdraw from Jung...
I avoided this place for several years based on the "annual pass" admission price and the over abundance of animals located inside. But, my daughter loves animals and I love her, so when the $10 Labor Day deal came around I opened up. I have to say that considering the deal on the holiday weekend that they handled the logistics well. While waiting in line for one of the multiple ticket booths employees, were handing out maps, discussing the park and explaining how you could upgrade the discounted tickets. The facility is nice, the shows are entertaining and the staff is very friendly. One chivalrous gentleman brought over a chair while my wife was changing our little girl into her bathing suit in the Playa a...
I wanted to give it 3 1/2 stars so I opted for 4 instead. Been here about twice now with the family. It's a nice place to take my son. He loves the birds and it completely drains him which is good for us. The entrance price is a bit steep, but they promotions most of the time. We got annual passes for the price of a one day pass. The staff are friendly, the place is kept in great conditions. The shows are ok, the park is small, parking is $8 but with annual pass it's $6. Everything in the gift shop is expensive (over priced). The photos with the animals are a bit expensive. In other words prepare to pay $$$. We haven't tried the food here cause we always come right after breakfast so we don't spend money on ...
If you live in the area and have a Florida ID, Jungle island is really a great deal. For the past two years we have been able to buy an annual pass for the price of a one day pass ($32). The current promotion ends March 31st, but they constantly run promotions throughout the year. Jungle island is pretty much a small zoo, but the property is well maintained, with plenty of shaded walkways that offer a nice leisurely walk of the grounds even in the heat of summer. The variety of animals is definitely not bad - they have a Liger, tigers, kangaroos, camels, lemurs, monkeys, etc in addition to the parrots. There is also a petting zoo with farm animals and a large playground - pretty much a perfect place to take ...
