An absolute must for young children
Some of my earliest memories are from Parrot Jungle, so I had high expectations for Jungle Island. I chose to view the experience through the lens of my 15 month old son's eyes, and based on that perspective, the expectations were met and exceeded. I l thoroughly enjoyed myself, as well. We were fortunate to have long discussions with the staff while watching them feed the animals. The passion and knowledge they brought to the job was commendable and touching. Still, there are plenty of rough spots for those inclined to focus on the negative. Best Thanksgiving Day Ever
We were here Thanksgiving Day 2011 and had the place almost to ourselves. It was a gorgeous day also. We did the private lemur tour with Melissa who was an exceptional guide. It was lots of fun, but I was a little bit intimidated by all the jumping, noise, and spraying. You will smell like a lemur when you leave. My husband absolutely loved it. Jungle Island is really well done and laid out nicely. The bird show included a flying condor and a vulture that flew around on cue just a few feet above your head. A must see is the ''wild'' encounters show which included a baby white tiger and baby orangutan. Try to get seats up close. You can see everything in about five hours which is the time between the shuttle ...
