Tips for Families

The regency club was well worth it for us as they have fruits, cookies, juices, and snacks that you can take with you. Also great happy hour for the parents.

Tips for Families

Pack light and do your laundry every couple days. Less to lug around. Laundry in each unit Valet... it's already included in your daily resort fee Bring plastic grocery bags with you. Maui has banned plastic. Drive to La Haina to get groceries at Foodland or Safeway. Foodland if you want really good Poke. Times market (across the street) is ok but not great.

Tips for Families

1. Rent a gazebo. 2. Rent snorkeling gear. 3. Stop by the store and pick up groceries before heading to the resort. They have a small kitchen stocked with all the utensils and pans you need to cook breakfast and the occasional lunch. 4. Take advantage of the kids club.

Great hotel in Ka'anapali area

Very good hotel. We brought 20 year old and 17 year old teenagers, and stayed 5 nights in rooms 6409/10 in the Ocean Block. The good: Excellent location at Black Rock. Wonderful location for snorkelling. Excellent rooms, great ocean views, could spot turtles from the balcony. Impeccable servicing of rooms, which had good facilities, were clean and well maintained. Very good pool, two great bars poolside, also serving food. Lush well maintained gardens, low impact buildings on a difficult partly hillside site. Great service from all staff we encountered. Gym has ample good equipment, well looked after. Great beach access and facilities. Didn't eat in the restaurants (too expensive for our taste, like most hot...

Fantastic place to stay in Hawaii:)

We have visited Hawaii before and decided to stay in a hotel versus condo this time and change the location as well. This hotel has everything you can possibly ask for. Upon our arrival we were warmly welcomed by Junko and immediately upgraded to phenomenal room with breathtaking views. We have traveled with two t...

Great Choice for Kaanapali Resort Area

We had ocean front rooms in building 6 (which is closest to Black Rock), on the ground level. Waking up and walking out to the lawn overlooking the ocean every morning and for sunsets in the evening was great! The rooms were a bit away from the pool and were very quiet. It's a short walk (and several connecting elevators) to get to the lobby, restaurants and the beach / Kaanapali boardwalk but not inconvenient. The hotel is quite spread out and has a better feel than being in tall ocean towers. Room was spacious - we had two double beds and well appointed. Building 6 also had its own parking lot. Service at the reception / lobby was below average - the reps have a don't care attitude (e.g., our rooms keys go...

Best deal on Ka'anapali Beach

It may not have all the bells and whistles of the other nearby hotels on or near this beach but it had everything we needed and we loved that it was owned and run by Hawaiians. They had shows each night, the restaurant is good, loved that they offered ukelele lessons and loved that Black rock was right there. The snorkeling right at Black Rock was great (sea turtles in the first 30 seconds we were in the water) and you can climb up the rock and cliff dive 15 or so feet into the water. The kids loved it. When I ran up and down the beach I noticed the other hotels in the Ka'anapali Beach resort were nicer looking but I'm not into that really polished, manicured look when I'm in Hawaii anyway. Ka'anapali is a g...
