Brook Falls

Brooks Falls is a section of the Brooks River, and is an ideal location for brown bear spotting. Powerful waterfalls and rapids give the site its name. Families board a seaplane and take a twenty-minute plane ride to the falls. During salmon migration season, bears can be seen walking along the rocks, catching fish and enjoying the water. Families can perch themselves on viewing platforms and see bears in their natural habitats, mere meters away from them. Overnight stays are recommended. Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes

The Valley of Ten Thousand Suns is a spectacular sight. The aftermath of the 1912 eruption of Novarupta Volcano still remains. What was once hot lava and ash have turned into deep gorges cut into the ash with the wild Ukak River flowing in between. Amidst the beautiful scenery lie the Yukah falls and wild life. A five-hour hike will take families on a round-trip tour of the valley including a 30-minute lunch. The Valley of Ten Thousand Suns is a unique location with spectacular views. Whether hiking or just looking from afar there is plenty to see.

Naknek Lake

Naknek Lake, like the rest of Katmai, is a majestic sight to see. Salmon and rainbow trout are plentiful here, making the lake a prime fishing destination. Brooks River

Brooks River encapsulates the beauty of Katmai National Park.
