Wonderful park for family picnic dayFlag review
Lovely property on the grounds of an old Catholic Seminary. It is a 300 acre plus park nestled away from the hustle of Seattle and the Eastside on the shores of Lake Washington. It has a huge shoreline that is very peaceful to walk and play on. My kids spent hours skipping rocks, digging in the sand and just being at the beach with their cousins. The play structure is awesome as well. It is in the midst of a huge grassy field overlooking both the lake and the wonderful architecture of the seminary buildings. The playground really offers something for everyone and is a great combo of a wooden play structure and some new attractions. An abundance of wonder walking paths, make this a wonderful park! Even on a busy day the park is so large, that it never really feels that crowded. It can get a bit windy even when the sun is shining, so bring a windbreaker or fleece.
Tips for Families
A parking fee is charged, so we always try and spend a day here when we visit the Pacific NW from New York. Locals love buying the park pass, so they can zip in for a few hours without facing the parking fee each time. A change of clothes is a great idea, somehow my children always end up in the water!
