Key West Seaplane Adventures, Key West, Florida

There are only two ways to get to the Dry Tortugas in the Florida Keys – by boat or by seaplane, and for vacationers who want the full experience, Key West Seaplane Adventures is definitely the way to fly. As gorgeous as the Dry Tortugas are by land or by sea, the view of the keys’ white sand beaches and exquisite turquoise blue waters from the air is simply breathtaking. The seaplane takes passengers to Garden Key, site of Fort Jefferson in the Dry Tortugas National Park, and makes a dramatic circle of the island before gliding onto the sand. The aircraft flies low the whole way, so the sightseeing is phenomenal – spotting sharks, shipwrecks and exotic birds is guaranteed, since every passenger gets a window seat and a headset for listening to the pilot’s commentary. The flight is obviously quicker than traveling by boat, and as an added bonus, the early and late trips allow passengers to enjoy the island with even fewer people around. Key West Seaplane Adventures may be a more expensive option for getting to the Dry Tortugas, but so worth it!

Tips for Families
Book early to make sure of getting the earliest and latest flights and avoid the crowds. The seaplane is a good option for children who may get seasick on the ferry.
