Tips for Families
A hike to a point near the summit (access to the top is forbidden for safety reasons) takes about two hours; wear sturdy shoes, as the trail is rocky. Sulfuric gases from the volcano can be hazardous, particularly to pregnant women, babies and young children, who should skip this hike altogether.
