Visitors at the La Purisima Mission learn more than California's Spanish mission history during their visit. This beautiful and sprawling mission bordered by the Santa Maria River and the Gaviota coast offers recreations of how California life was in the 1820s, giving guests a chance to participate in weaving, pottery making, candle making, livestock production and even leatherwork. It's a perfect stop for history buffs in the family. Families can also explore the extensive property on trails and little kids can take a day playing and feeding the farm animals there.
