Good location in the center of thingsFlag review
This hotel is located across the street from the ferry dock, so it eliminates the need to hire a horse-and-carriage to transport you (and your luggage). It's the oldest continuously operating hotel on Mackinac Island, built in 1864. The rooms are nothing special, but they're fine. Heating/AC unit can be a little on the loud side. What this hotel has going for it is its central location: in the middle of the "main" street on the island, so you're close to shops, across the street from bike rentals, etc. The hotel also has the only indoor, heated pool on the island, which is a plus with kids.
Tips for Families
Grab an ice cream cone (or some fudge) and settle into one of the rocking chairs on the hotel's front porch at the end of the day.
