Leffert’s Pond provides a wide variety of activities for active families including mountain biking, horseback riding, boating, fishing, picnicking, cross country skiing, snowmobiling and hiking. Multiple trails offer loop opportunity which begins and ends at the parking lot. The trail has gradual ascents and descents to the intersection with Wildcat Road. Average hiking time is between one and one and a half hours. Cross Country Skiing and horseback riding are permitted with a day pass from the Mountain Top Inn in Chittenden. Boating and fishing access to Leffert’s Pond and Chittenden Reservoir (from the parking lot) is available. Leffert’s Pond covers 55 acres and is 10-12 feet deep. Tips for Families
Leffert’s Pond Trail offers a loop opportunity by connecting the Round Robin Trail, Leffert’s Pond Trail and a section of Wildcat Road. Dogs are welcome at Leffert’s Pond but they must be on a leash at all times. Camping is not allowed in the day use area. Day use hours are from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
